(This evaluation framework is composed of the guidelines listed in our article: Mission Statement for Success)

Although this is an unofficial HP’s mission and is a combined statement out of two other statements, it is the best mission in our evaluation so far. It has scored 3.8 points out of 4.5 and only because it didn’t include who are the firm’s customers and what products or services are provided by the company. HP is one of the few to mention all 4: citizenship, teamwork, excellence and integrity as their values. These values are the most common to the best performing corporates around the world. HP’s statement provides all the essential information about the company and its ‘reason for being’ in the business to all of its stakeholders: employees, customers, shareholders, suppliers and partners. The only issue with this statement is that it’s not an official mission. HP should combine the two previous statements and express them in a one comprehensive mission.
